Show me your favorite bolt action "fun" guns.

The blue and red ones are probably closest to what your talking about.
The blue gun is 6arc, the red one 6Creed.
The Arc gets shot more than the larger rounds when we shoot at our long range spot, but if i could afford the cost (barrel and ammo) even the 7prc would be comfortable for 100+ rounds in a sitting

Been meaning to contribute mine, but don't want take all the pics! Maybe later? But my favorite is according to what game I'm after? But there's one that's only rifle that ever earned a name! My #1 alltime squirrel rifle, a CZ 452 Ultralux 22lr aka Ole Job! my best ever iron sight rifle. But right behind is a CZ 452 American, scoped 22lr. Either never failed me when I done my part
But in deer rifles, right now there's two in fierce competition for #1? I have to give that to my Tikka LSA65 30-06, and it's an original Tikka made in 75, prior to Sako. But last year I fell into the 270WCF crowd, and now I love my Rem 700 270Win, took my deer last fall with it!
But I have several others I love, not enough time to use em all. A Steven's Mod 15a 22lr is a sweetheart, and so is a Mossberg Mod 44us b 22lr. I had another CZ 452 Lux that may been the best shooter, but they're so accurate you're splitting hairs? But definitely the best looker, great piece walnut, but recently gave it to my brother. Gave another dandy squirrel rifle away not long ago, Rem Mod 580. Need to get my Mosin 91/30 7.62×54R out it's plenty deer capable, and lotta fun! Couple more but that's enough.

About 1970 I had a Winchester Model 43 in 218 Bee which I ended up selling in the early 80’s. One of those guns that you later regret selling.
Small caliber rifles are few and far between here in Alaska.
But, last October a friend put a sweet 218 Bee model 43 on his table at the TVSA show and as Wally was 2 tables down from me I couldn’t help but notice let alone pass it up.

Looking forward to shooting a Bee again. I have 3 or 4 light bullet molds that should work pretty good in the 1-16 twist.
I managed to talk another friend out of his Savage 23D 22 Hornet just a couple months before I came up with the Winchester 218 bee.

In the same category of calibers I have 2 Remington model 25 pump guns, one a rifle and the other a carbine. I know, they aren’t bolt guns, but certainly deserves mentioning. The 3 calibers 22 Hornet, 218 Bee and the 25-20’s will keep me busy doing load development with cast bullets this summer.

Of course the Remington model 12 22LR below the 25-20’s is a favorite.

My favorite big bore is a rebarreled Remington 660 originally a 6.5 mag, rebarreled to a 458x2 American. IMG_2681.jpeg
Top is a Remington 660 rebarreled to 260 REM. With a 4x12 Leupold
Middle is my rebarreled 660 in 458x2 American which has a Leupold 30mm VX6 1x6. Awesome scope with a 120 foot field of view at 100 yards, gun weights in at under 8 pounds.
Bottom is a Remington 600 in 308 with a Leopold compact 3x9

IMG_2681.jpeg
The 458x2 American is slightly more power than the 45-70 loads for the Ruger #1 loadings.
At 8 pounds and 39 inches, with the VX6 Leopold is a fast handling rifle for anything on this planet.

Great topic! I think all my guns are fun, but the ones I love the most are the ones I shoot regularly with friends and family.

In the bolt action realm, I have a couple that stand out.

First of all would be my Remington LTR in .223. It is super accurate and has taken many varmints. My son kind of adopted it and he likes it for calling coyotes.

Next up would be my CZ rimfires. I have a couple but I really like my daughter's 452 Scout and my 455 American or my 452 Trainer.

We also have a TONS of fun with our Ruger American Ranch 7.62x39, so much so that I have two of them.

And last but not least would be my 77/357. This one is just great for sitting around camp and plinking at things.

So there you have it!

It has been really neat to see what other folks enjoy as well. I do see a couple of trends running in the thread.

Mine are all C&R Military Surplus. The Italian 6,5 MM was my first gun, $12.95 plus $2.00 S&H. The Czech an Yugoslavian Mausers and my favorites the SMLE's. These rifles were so dirt cheap I should have bought more but I didn't want a divorce. Not the money, She buy's me guns and never question me about money but the SMELL from the cosmoline removal banished me to the garage for cleaning purposes. IMG_3703.JPG IMG_0229.JPG SMLE (3).JPG

Savage 23b in 25-20. Leupold vx2 2x7 compact. It's a just plain fun rig on e you get set up to load ammo for it.....
Thanks for adding something new to my bucket list:eek::ninja::uhoh:. Double jeopardy as I also own a TC contender, and would naturally need a barrel for that to take advantage of the new caliber added to the roster. Sounds perfect for backyard plinking as my Henry .357 single is now on long-term loan to my out of state nephew. I've even got a fine cross hair El Paso K4 to put on it!

I have a favorite but keep it tucked away waiting to find a cheaper more available fun gun for others enjoy. When I am avoiding doing something constructive, I like to have fun with any of them. They occupy most of the front row of the "let's take a break" rack.

You're welcome!
As to contender barrels, apparently TC doesn't put a proper throat in their barrels for the 25-20 and it can be difficult to get good accuracy with cast bullets. Consider a good custom barrel instead.

Enabler? Me?!!

I am down to one centerfire bolt action rifle and with an 87 1/2 year old body and rebuilt shoulders it's no fun at all for me to shoot now. It's a light weight 30-06 tooth rattler that I have posted a picture of before but lost in a hard drive melt down because I was lax in doing a back up. I keep it because my son wants it and my safe is larger than his. Now my pawn shop rescued Winchester 69 A is my favorite bolt gun. Poor thing looked like it had been tossed in the bed of a rancher's pickup and bounced around for years when I bought it. I brought to back to life and it's an accurate little rifle but totally worthless to a collector because of all the work I did to get it back shootable. Lyman target sights, adjustable trigger, great fit, and no recoil at all makes it fun. It's picture disappeared with the 30-06 one.

All of my guns are fun guns since I haven't hunted in years

Interarms Mini Mk X .223 made by Zastava. A really handy and fun little rifle. I've had it since 1985 when my wife bought it for me as a birthday present.
