We had a huge snowstorm today, so I just sulked around my big old house and played on the computer. I ran across some old scans of my Kahr MK9. Old scanner, so the image is not that great.

My Kahr MK9 was my first autoloader! No kidding. She was a brand new design at the time, so this tells you how old this gun is. It is one of the very first MK9s and has the old thicker Hogue grips and metal following mags. The recoil spring was replaced. The serial number is quite low.

The little girl has been a faithful shooter and once broken in, eats almost everything in 9mm except tall bullets. She really likes Silvertips, but bends the heck out of the case on ejection, and deforms the hollowpoint tip upon unloading. She is tight!

When I sometimes compare the new MK9s and PM9s to my little baby, I am glad I bought one of the earlier models. She is built like a Swiss watch.

So, here is my tiny MK9. Would any Kahr owners like to share pics of their Kahrs?

    Nice looking Kahr. :D

Here's a picture of my PM9 along with my Colt Mustang.

My PM9 decided it didn't like hollow points after 500 assorted rounds. So I sent it back to Kahr for repair and can't wait to get her back.

I was looking for a Kahr K9 but I found a Kahr K40 Elite for a great price instead. Well, my 30 days aren't up from my last handgun purchase so I can't get the K40 until next week. Alas, I am still Kahrless.:(

This is my current carry Kahr. I have shot my concealed carry course with it with a perfect score and defensive hangun 1 and night combat courses with the gun. I really am very impressed with the gun.

    My early-model K9...

With my Caspian Officer's ACP. Both got carried, often.

    Poor firestar.

They are very very pretty guns aren't they? I long for a T9 to add to my collection.

A K98 Elite in 9mm may be as good as it gets when it comes to medium sized pistols. If you have an early K-9, hang on to it because they will become collectors item someday. The K-9 is a modern classic.

Traded mine for a CZ75, the only trade I kind of regret (but not by much).

This is a snapshot I took a while back when someone asked to compare the sizes of the Mak and the K series Kahr. The Kahr is an early model with factory electroless nickel. It's been my daily carry for about five years now and has never failed to function in any way during the break-in period (from day one) and continues to hold on to that reputation of flawless function to this day, a few thousand rounds later.

When I first got my Concealed Pistol License, I was carrying my S&W 4506. It was cool weather, with plenty of clothing. But then summer came around, and I needed something smaller to carry. I got the little Kahr for summertime, and believed that I would go back to the S&W come winter. Wrong! The MK9 has become the all-the-time carry.
