How do you like the citadel? And how much weight does the magpul furniture on your Rossi r95 add to it? Nice rifle collection!

I like it but one of the screws broke in the pic rail. I need to fix it but haven't got around to it yet.

I didn't measure but think the Magpul reduced the weight a bit. The factory stuff was just painted laminate. So fairly heavy to begin with.

I dont have a good picture of the rifle, but close-ups of the my Henry Freemason commemorative Golden Boy 22.
A gift from my Favorite brother(in
law).
Hmm. I have grouse engravings on my upland gun. Moose engravings on my big game rifle. This leads to a question what are you supposed to hunt with that one...

My favorite .22....Marlin's 39 Century Limited produced in 1970. It's 1/2 lb. lighter than more commonly seen 20" "Mountie" and balances better for it with either the receiver peep or the scope mounted.

First pic with a Williams Fool Proof receiver peep. Scope in the 2nd pic is one of Leupold's 2.5x Alaskans for my 78 yo eyes. Regards, Rod

Not to suit me, never could get it below 2-1/2 to 3 MOA. I traded it away (best looking M88 I ever owned) but not a good shooter. I did kill a nice deer, a running buck chasing a doe during the rut one season, but luckily it was a 50 yard shot - only had to guess the lead.
gorgeous,
how did shoot?

As far as I know it is, gun was made before they started putting floor varnish on the wood.
The mismatched wood is eerily similar to a B2000 I bought in 1978 upon my return home from Germany. Right down to similar grain structures.

In 1977 I'd just graduated HS, went to work making good money. My first payday, I bought a new Mod 39a for my squirrel rifle. And being foolish in my youth I traded it, my 2nd worst decision of my gun career!
But aprox 2011-12, I was in a good squirrel woods, thought way alone? Ran into another acquaintance I knew. He was toting as if on cloud 9, a Century Limited 39a, he'd just traded for. This was first time I ever laid eyes on one, but found out who he'd gotten it from, whom I knew of and him having bought it new, no doubt in 1971, but while in his possession I'd never seen it. But seeing it in this guy's hands, I'll never forget it. He was a fine very simple man, hard working, and squirrel hunting with several of his fine old 22's was his only real passion. We talked long time before parting, and knew full well, that rifle was in a well deserved owners hands!

M65Man....great memory of a good time. Thx for the telling.

I had a Mountie for 35 years +. It was a gift from our rifle team's coach...a USAF CMSGT, Gene Reinartz, USAF Distinguished Rifleman Badge, President's Hundred; a man with several lifetimes of shooting and coaching experience. Of the half dozen or more men who made a difference in my growing up, he was up there at the top, respected by all, and beloved by the team.

If there is a "Valhalla", I hope to again meet him and his like once more. His last words to us as we parted company enroute to USAF pilot training was, 'Take care of your men'. Words to live for and if necessary to die for. And the Mountie?....I gave it my son when he turned 9 years old, he's 51 now and it gets a workout with his daughters.

Sorry for the digression from the thread...M65Man...here's my M65...in .25-20...Regards, Rod

This 1963 built Winchester M88 was my favorite deer rifle, owned it nearly 30 years, given to my son-in-law now to pass down to my grandson eventually. 308 WIN with 165 grain Interlocks over IMR 4064 has always done the job in this levergun.

Deer in a cotton field... not something you see everyday. I like it! That's a nice 88 too!

Beautiful rifle + that 86-92 action in a cartridge I know I could've handloaded into a dandy squirrel rifle-Long Ago! I've never even seen one, but always admired them!

Remington/Marlin 336 stainless steel .30-30. First rifle I ever bought. At the time I got it, I had heard the stainless steel models had the least amount of QC problems. Has a long discontinued Bushnell AK 1-4x20 LPVO, cantilever mount, Limbsaver butt pad and can't remember the brand fabric cartridge holder.

Forgot, the picatinny rail is one from Midwest Industries.

I see where you're coming from, m65man, I think it may be the lighting. I'll pull the old girl out and try and get another image in some good light to see if it evens up.
