Ohiobuck74 i like the trophies on the wall! My fans, and mounts are in the living room, but that sets the tone for the man cave/reloading room. What size building do you have?

Thanks, I have more in the house, just trying to please the wife by giving some of her house back. Garage is 28x46 holds 3 cars and my truck with room to play. It's my "man cave"

I have a question about lighting. My tired old eyes need more and better than my swing arms can provide!

I have heard that overhead fluorescent lights can/will interfere with electronic scales causing accuracy problems. Is there a certain type I need to buy that won't interfere? If so, what and where? Thanks.

I think the problem may be with older fluorescent fixtures, I have not noticed the problem in my shop and I have four fixtures with four tubes each. I tried using my scales with and without them on and it made no difference. YMMV.

If you are concerned with electrical interference from lighting, use incandescent, they are benign.

New electronic reloading equipment is not effected by fluorescent lights, maybe the new fluorescent lights have been updated not to interfere??

I called RCBS several years ago when I bought my Chargemaster 1500 and they said there are no problems now and no complaints have been logged there.

I just replaced my old large fluorescent bulbs with the new smalled diameter ones.
I tried a few types and settled on these bulbs.
GE 48" Closet and Laundry F32 T8 bulb.
It's brighter than the old ones were, I can actually see better now...:D

I just installed a LED shop light from HomeDepot over my reloading bench. Makes a huge difference.

I put in some LED strips underneath my shelves which work great. My main lighting in my shed was very yellowish whereas these LEDs are much whiter and brighter. Picture not that great but you get the idea. uploadfromtaptalk1428842252408.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1428842290357.jpg

Thanks for the suggestions on the LED lighting. Just put up a 4' LED above the bench and OMG! What a difference. Of course now the wife wants them put up over the washer and the dryer and the sink and the.....:what:

Started reloading for the first time around a month ago.

We had a computer nook in our house that we really never used (laptops don't need a dedicated location). Seemed like a good place to set up so I built a shelf. The top of the desk was Corian and I didn't want to drill through it so I made a new top out of MDF and skinned it with Formica. It sits on top of the Corian and I counter sunk the bolts for the mount from the back side. It's wedged so tight that I didn't need to screw it in.

Just started loading and got a 650 with all the trimmings, that is jumping in with both feet. Looks great, good set up. One thing I would suggest is cutting the bolts off, they can give you a nasty cut.

I finally upgraded from the trusty Rock Chucker to a 650XL ...man I should have done that a long time ago! lol

I managed to build a 6'x2' bench, squeezed in between my motorcycle tire machine and 25 gallon compressor (my garage is a bit ...crowded).

I'll continue to load for my 6mm Remington on the single-stage. :)

gunnels: Regarding your bench...

Just bought one of those @ LOWE'S: Looked around and saw nothing at twice the price in SS that began to compare. How much reloading in a month do you do, on average?

Cheers!

Finally got mine put together. Kregg kit, with homemade top. Kind of hard to drill holes in something you just worked hard to make look nice!

Work in progress, just finished bench and shelf unit. Wife made the mistake to say I could have a spare bedroom as a gun / reloading room, so I had to strike while the iron was hot!!
Legs and shelf brackets by 2x4basics @ Amazon.

Now time to load it up and order more stuff from Dan @ Inline Fabrication. Seems my 6" press mount is too short now that I moved from the shop's 42" bench to this one that is 36" tall, 7' x 3'. The mount will work, but, will have to hang the press over the edge. Shelf unit takes up 15 1/2" and is 36" high. Sure will be nice to be in the cool house instead of the metal shop building.
