attractive work but with a turnaround time of almost 2 years I will pass.

There are some groups on Facebook for 1911s and there are quite a few people posting about staying away from Wicked. I haven't seen any details given as to why though.

Wicked Grips

From my own experience, with, I don't know, maybe a half dozen sets of 1911 grips, Wicked Grips are very nice. I've never waited more than a few days for them to arrive (but then again, I choose from what's currently listed on their web site.) The fit and finish is superb.

I've only experienced one problem, which was with a set of Officer's stocsk in Ironwood burl. I tightened the grip screws too tightly and cracked one of the panels. I emailed Ed to see if there was anything he could do. He asked that I return them. Without charge, he epoxied them back together. The repair was so expertly done that I literally could not see a joint line on the display surface of the wood. On the back side, there was a little bit of extra epoxy showing, but even that blended very nicely with the grain.

First class stocks, first class service, in my experience.

The grips on the stainless (single six actually) are real snake belly skin (told is was cobra) over wood. I was very lucky and stubbled on them just after they were posted on ebay with a buy it now price....i am very proud of them...if anyone is interested the grips on the blued blackhawk are from private schultz custom grips...he does a wonderful job aand is a pleasure to deal with

Thanks guys! I followed a tutorial from another forum I'm a member of. They're made of laminated denim and fiberglass. I'm thinking of trying another set in a different color scheme.

Here's my latest...

Esmeraldacustomgrips.jpg

Customized grips from Esmeralda. I asked if she could combine some features I'd seen on some of her other grips with my own inscriptions and she agreed. They were only about a four week wait and they are stunning in person. The pistol is an STI Escort in .45ACP.
