My 2nd set. 1st set a LONG time ago. Better tools now.
This is before any oil is applied.. I'll post again once I have it fully rich in color and sealed.

The grips are Cocobollo, Ebony and Maple (accent stripe).
I had to pick up this piece of Coco, I'm forseeing anoher set of grips using the white streak in the coco. Having that make a natural strike thru.
The Springer is due for a new Beavertail Safety.. I wanted to try one out before I ground on the frame.

Esmeralda does it again! I can't recommend her highly enough. These just came in, ordered two days ago, from CA to Ohio.

/k/anadian,

Your Russian Toakrev is the best looking pistol i've seen in a long time!!!

May I ask, where did you find those grips? Marschal Grips in Hungary? Those are great!

I've always been on the fence, but, I'm looking for a Russian TT-33 as of right now to keep my Makarovs company!

Maybe I'm not seeing correctly, but the last picture you posted of the P-64 says Marschal black walnut grips. Those look like the original black plastic grips that came on the gun...

A couple old custom panels found on old H&R pieces:

Here's an H&R American Double Action circa 1907-08 with custom made bone grips:
