SiCo Summertime Kickoff Promo shipping?

    Last summer, Silencerco ran the Summertime Kickoff BOGO promotion. I understood at the time that it might take a while (3-4 mos) for the free can to ship (form 3 to dealer) but it has now been 7-8 months. Did anyone else take advantage of this promotion? And has SiCo shipped?

    I did. Based on recent emails it appears they plan on having them shipped this summer. Later than I expected but like most NFA items I sort of forget about it until it comes in.

    Wow so the form 3 is going to take a year before you START your paperwork? Even at a buy-one get-one seems kind of crazy. Glad they are busy enough where they're that far out though.

    SiCo says they were surprised that a "Buy one, get one free" promotion" would be popular. What. A. Load. Of. Baloney.
    When I first heard of this promotion my first thought was SiCo is REALLY short on cash. My second thought was they must have a lot of unsold cans laying around.
    The public isn't stupid. Why buy a SiCo can now, when they may drop another such promotion in the future?
    Dealers aren't stupid. Why stock SiCo cans when you have unsold inventory that the manufacturer is giving away free?

    Silencerco used to have a pretty darn good reputation. This PR disaster destroyed that.

    Yeah I thought the execution of the promotion was poor. They could have done a far better job of explaining the process and being transparent with the customers. I was unable to enter the serial number into their rebate form despite entering it exactly as it appears. I emailed them and they did not reply after two weeks nor was I able to speak with someone despite multiple calls. Finally, I fired off a second sharky email which generated a reply that they still had to update something before it would recognize my serial number. Now that that was resolved, I was left wondering what I needed to do or what the next step was or if SiCo would automatically ship and transfer to the dealer I listed in the rebate form. I had to ask about that. After getting the answer that I just needed to wait for shipment to my dealer, I received the email in the OP. When I dish out a grand for something, I expect at least some sort of timely response from the seller.
