sig 1911 platinum elite

local gun shop has one in lnib conditin for $850. I got some stuff to trade in to scrooge the price down a little. Is it worth it? Anyone with any experience with these guns?

My experience was not good. Check the dealer's return policy.

The early Sig 1911s had a lot of problems. The later models sound much better (Gun Tests recently did a test in which a Sig 1911 trounced their former favorite, a Colt COO).

But yes, as with any 1911, it's best to check the return policy first.

I had a recent model Sig GSR until recently. Performed perfectly. Traded it for another pistol that was more geared to CCW, and the new owner is still blown away by accurate the pistol is. No complaints here.

I myself am not a fan of the looks of the sig version of a 1911, and I have read more bad than good about them, that immediately turns me off them. For 850 I myself would look elsewhere
