Sig 226 and Glock 35

I have a choice between a Glock 35 (5 hi cap mags, night sights) and a Sig 226 .40 ST (accessory rail, stainless frame and slide, nights sights 3 hi cap mags). The one I buy will be a keeper, and I want a good fighting .40 that will perform well and last a long time. And this gun may be put through all kinds of hell, as I will use it at the range and for defense. Any suggestions on which I should go for? Appreciate the help.
 
Whichever one fits your hand better. :)

(Although it does sound to me like you're describing a Glock....)
 
Whatever you prefer based on how it feels to you and how well you can shoot it. Both are quality guns.

For me the choice is Sig over Glock every time. But, YMMV.

I went the other way, I had three Glocks and never again, I now have 10 SIG's. :D

Try to find a range that rents them and shoot both, its the only way to make the right decision.
 
Sig all the way. I have Sig 226 in a 9mm thought that I purchased i think in 1992 and I have put over 20,000 rounds thru it, without a single malfuction. And I mean not one. It has shot everything I have fed it, and its as accurate as the day i got it.
 
I'm also large enough to conceal either weapon. Right now, it looks like the glock has some advantage in that area. Thinner and a lot less weight. Hmmmm, this is making it tougher. I really don't know that one handles the .40 better than the other when it comes to fast follow up shots. I know they both come up to aim/on target quite well. And this Sig has had a trigger job. Thanks for the advice. I'm still having a hard time choosing. Of course, since Sigs cost more, I could just buy that and if not completely satisfied, trade for the glock without losing much money (if any...they're both slightly used).

Silver Surfer, have you carried the G35? Also, have you ever touched off one of those Speer 155gr in that thing. How about the Corbon 135 grain? That just about has to be performing like a slightly heavier .357magnum out of a G35. I would expect this gun to enhance what the .40 can already do. Also, do yo know if there is a .357sig barrel available for the G35?
 
In true THR fashion get both.:cool: But i prefer my Sigs over any of my other guns for daily carry. I suppliment with a Commander and High Power once in a while but my Sigs are my shtf guns.
 
Glocks are great handguns, so are Sigs. The only problem I have with Glocks is they feel weird in my hand and they're too light for my tastes. I like handguns to feel substantial so my vote is for the 226ST.
 
+1 on what feels comfortable

A 9mm hit is better than a .40 miss, and an uncomfortable handgun will make for more misses. That being said, I'm a Sig guy and .40 isn't my thing.

Is that curvature of the earth I'm seein' there on that slide there Count? :)
 
Shoot both at a range or close examples of each. One will feel and shoot better for you. Buy the other one. :D Just kidding, buy the one that feels natural. The grip angles are different enough that you should notice a difference.
