I have the oppurnity to buy a Sig AMT. I want it, however the fact is is that its ugly. Please no flames.

How well is it made? I heard they are one of the finest made rifles but its stamped sheet metal still.

If it's a good price, snag it. Not too many floating about. And bring your checkbook.

Ugly? The Sig AMT is ugly? I've seen "art" that looks like scrap we send to Japan.

BTW, if you get tired of it or it doesn't look good on top of the Land Rover, I'll fly over there and haul your "trash." :)

We still have three of them. We don't shoot them much cuz we're into the other Swiss rifles like the k31 and the 1911sr, but I can tell you that My FNs are more acurate for autoloaders. Our PE57s are much more accurate too and Dad says it's because the PE57s use the 7.5 Swiss cartridge and the rifle was designed for the cartridge. The AMT is just another really cool looking and well made rifle, but there are others more accurate. Its also way too much money. When Dad bought ours it was like in the late 70's or something and they were only maybe 5 or 6 hundred dollars then.

Ugly, ergonomically inadequate, mediocre accuracy, overly heavy...
