I'm considering the purchase of a Sig P220 Compact.. In years past I had a Sig P220 and it was just a bit too large for my hands.. I'm just looking for input from folks who might have shot, or own one.

Positives or negatives...

Thanks!

I've handled one compact SAS & did not particularly like how short the grip was :scrutiny: I would prefer the carry model w/ the shorter slide vs. the compact model
My 2 cents ;)

One more for the Carry SAS. Compact is too short for me.
I never warmed up to the DAK but I really liked the melt job on this pistol. Now it has TDA and I've got the best of both worlds. But I digress...
;)

FPrice: The two are pretty similar. The biggest (only?) difference is that the new P220 Compact has an extended beaver -tail (which I don't like). I tote the 229 Carry and really like it.

I tote the 229 Carry
Which one is that? :)

The P220 and P220 Carry share basically the same frame. The Carry has a P245 or Compact length slide. There is really little difference between it and the P220.

I have a P245. It looks like all SIG did was add the beavertail to the P245 and rename it. I like it better without the beavertail, and dont know what their reason for it was. The P245 is very easy to shoot well with.

I have the compact and the equinox. I like both alot. The compact is a good gun, low recoil and a pleasure to shoot.

AK103K: I don't know how I typed 229 (I guess because the 9 is next to the 0 on my keyboard!). You're right, of course- I meant to say 220 Carry.
