I posted this over on sigforum, too. Just posting it here to see if I get different suggestions.

I have a classically nitron'ed Sig P229 from '96. It looks great, wonderful condition, but I want to put on nickel accents (trigger, takedown lever, decocking lever, slide stop lever, grip screws... and magazine release and hammer if possible). I checked on Brownells, and they have the trigger for $53, but none of the other parts. Are these items something I can find on my own?

If i remmeber correctly, Sig had a deal going a couple years ago where you could send in a handgun and they installed all the nickel accents for something around $160. No longer can I find any mention of this offer on their site, so I can only assume that it's no longer offered. I did, however, send them an e-mail asking about this. Hopefully I'll get a response soon.

So anyway, anyone know how/where I can get these parts? Any suggestions are deeply appreciated.

Thanks in advance. :)

You could remove the parts and send them out for refinish. I had a worn grip safety and thumb safety of a 1911 hardchromed by Tripp. I think they wanted about $6 per part and $12.00 shipping but you'd have to check. Hard chrome is flatter than nickel, more of a brushed stainless look. You could check in to NP3 from Robar, there are others.

Provided you can disassemble and reassemble the Sig yourself I would think you could get the parts finished to something you'd like for around the same cost as the new trigger. You should be able to get stainless grip screws from Hogue for $6.00 or so if you hunt.
