I just picked up a Sig P250 compact 45. I have not had a chance to shoot it yet. I broke it down and cleaned/lubed it and got some snap caps. After cleaning I loaded the mag with the 5 snap caps (AZoom) and the gun will not chamber a round with the magazine in place. the round gets lodged halfway. When I release the mag the round then fully chambers.

I tried holding the mag release button down to fully insert the chamber and that does not help.

I noticed the magazine has a little play to it when it is inserted. Moves a little bit like it is not completely set.

Thanks

I can't think of anything off the top of my head that would cause that, but I can try to induce something like that with mine.

EDIT - Just in messing around, the snap caps certainly feel rougher than live ammo, so maybe try with that, and see if the problem persists? I couldn't get mine to act up like that.

I don't think it is a sna cap issue. After posting the the original post, I loaded a dummy round with the actual lead I will be shooting and I had the same problem.

If I push and hold the mag up as far as possible while racking the slide it chmbers without any issues.

It seems to me tht the mag is not going all the way up, so to speak.

Also, one end of the recoil spring is purple, it that normal

Mine is blue on the end towards the shooter. Could have been purple at one point I guess (it's really worn off).
