Local gun shop has had a Sig p250 in the case for several years. Great shape, 3 mags, and box under 300. About Glock 19 size. I've been looking at it but I don't know anything about this model. Thoughts and opinions?

FYI, a P250 is DAO
I own a P250SC 9mm which is a sub-compact.
A favorite carry gun of mine because of the safety of DAO being very revolver like.

I believe the full size has a square trigger guard like this:

I can thumb the hammer when re-holstering, another safety factor not found on a striker fired gun.
So yeh, that seems to be a good price for that gun, but you can check gun broker for current prices.
The 40 and 357 Sig barrels can be interchanged.
Here is a GB search:

That's good to know about it being DAO. While I do own and carry both, I prefer hammer fired over striker. I'm going tomorrow to talk to the shop owner.

It's basically a hammer-fired P320. I had the two-tone model when they first came out and stupidly let it go- it was a great gun. The trigger is light and smooth for a DAO

Just a FYI, the magazine baseplates aren't interchangeable between the early and late production guns. I believe the later ones use P320 mags.

If you have a P320, the grip frame should also swap with the P250. Take the FCU out and swap it into the 320 grip frame. You would still need the 250 FCU and Slide. So if you end up with a subcompact like Tilos and want a bigger grip (and more rounds) you can just use a compact or full size P320 grip frame.

For instance, this is my Sig M18 FCU and slide on a P250 subcompact grip frame (you can cut the frames for the safety if your FCU has one.)

I love modular pistols.

Sig's P250 required only one FCU to work with 6 calibers: .22LR, .380ACP, 9mm, .357SIG, .40S&W, and .45ACP. Grip modules (frames) were available in Subcompact, Carry/Compact and Full sizes, as well as Large, Medium and Small widths of each.

The P250 had the best DAO trigger I have ever encountered and many others held the same opinion. Although the trigger pull was long as one would expect of a DAO, it was smooth and light (mine were between 5 and 6 pounds).

Went back to the shop today after my weekly range session. The Sig sold on Saturday. Oh well. Win some, lose some.

I had one a few years ago that I traded on a 226, probably should’ve kept it. Picked up a small grip/compact module on clearance that was perfect for my liking. I have larger hands but like a smaller grip on my pistols. It had a long trigger pull but smooth. I kept the module just in case I get another, that should say something.

Seems like the Sig 250 has a lot of pluses. I must not be a revolver guy cuz I hated the super long trigger pull.

My son-in-law had one of these. I think sig makes a lot of great guns and I have owned a number of them. I'm also not much of Da/Sa guy, although I do see how usefull it can be in carry situations. Don't own any Sigs currently.

I'm actually a little shocked they haven't brought back the P250 given the bad reputation the 320 has gained for ADs. Seems like LEAs would love to have a similar gun that takes the same magazines/holsters but without the liability issues.

They discontinued the 250 like almost the day that they were awarded the DoD contracts for the P320. I assumed at the time it was to free up manufacturing capacity. Maybe when they get caught up with the military 320s, they'll churn out a couple more runs of 250s to test the waters.

Take my money, SIG! (And, BTW, I have zero interest in a 320)

I really like them. After accumulating the 9mm, .40, .357, and .45 kits, I bought a second frame as soon as I heard they were discontinued.

The subcompact frame with a compact barrel feels just right to me. I like the trigger and the windex-bottle operation. I think of it as a modern bulldog revolver.
