I know the bores of some manufacturers are chrome lined or tennifer treated. What does SIG Sauer use on the inside of their pistol barrels and how resistent is it to pitting/rust compared to tennifer or chrome lining?

On the models where they specify on the website, most are listed as "Hard chromed and NitronĀ® finished barrel".

All I can tell you is that I've never had any issues with rusting or pitting, even when I've neglected cleaning.

The only handgun I've seen with a chromed barrel is a Stoeger Cougar 8040 of which I own an example (they are basically a Beretta Cougar made in Turkey). I think Stoegar hardcromes all Cougar barrels no matter the caliber, but I don't know what Beretta did when they made it.
Sig Nitrons the barrel. I don't know if they're chromed underneath or not. But Sigs are good guns and if you do your part in maintainance you would not have any problems with pitting.

I have a Beretta PX4 which the Couger was a precursor to and the inside of the barrel is chrome. I believe the 92FS is chrome inside the barrel too.

The SIG combat models have hard chromed barrels and phosphated internals. Most of the rest of SIGs pistols have stainless barrels, so they should be fine with proper care.

Whew, I looked at my X-5 TAC TB last night and thought I was going blind or something.
