If this isn't the right place to ask this question I apologize. I recently bought a SIG SAUER MK25
9MM with a ROMEO1 sight. During rapid fire the red dot goes out. It will come back on if I wait a while and turn it back on. Any idea why this is happening and what to do about it?

Make sure the battery cover is on tight, if it is, odds are there is a bad connection inside the sight and you'll need to send it back to SIG for replacement or repair.

I've taken apart and fixed bad solder connections on some of the cheap Chinese red dots and they've worked well enough afterwards, but you've paid for a "brand name" they should make it right.

Thanks wally.

I strongly suspect the red dot sight will need to go back to the manufacturer, but the suggestion to check the connections to the battery is a good one. You could also clean the battery contact points on the sight and the battery itself with a pencil eraser. I don't know if this really does any good, but it is harmless as long as you don't let any little bits of eraser get in the sight.

I would not make any other attempts to repair the sight, since any other actions might interfere with the warranty.

Good luck with the sight. When you get this settled you are going to enjoy it.

This was reported to be a problem with the development units and is rumored to be the reason why the RX series of guns have taken so long to come to market. Once common cause seems to be the battery cover backs off about 1/8th of a turn during firing, requiring periodic re-tightening to function. Some people also report the sight failing to the on state and can't be turned off/buttons cease functioning. This seems to be cured by taking the battery out for approx 1 minute then re-installing.

Hopefully the bugs will get worked out by the time Sig gets around to making P320 RX X-change kit. If they ever get around to that.
