I recently got a P220ST and would like to remove the magazine disconnect. it is NOT part of the locking block like the P226 California ones. I have Googled and pretty much nothing. Thanks.
I never new of any firearm that Sig made with a magazine disconnect. I know that the 220 has a manual decocker, so I am stumped or lacking in more integral knowledge of this particular firearm. Would you be willing to post pictures? This would be very helpful.
Here are pics of what I believe to be the offending device. This first pic shows the gun with no magazine and second pic has magazine inserted. Notice how the mag moves disconnect back?
Here are more pics from the top. The disconnect is attached to the device that the magazine pushes back. I gather I need to replace the offensive piece of metal in the gun.
This is from Calguns and for a P226 but may be helpful: https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=1102493 Darn mag disconnects! Since the P220 and the P226 are similar this may work for you. There is also a youtube link.
I already looked at that. The magazine disconnect for the P226 is contained in the locking block, the magazine disconnect for the P220 I have is in the hammer assembly. I'll probably just have to take it apart and shave that little nub off or learn to live with it.
After some more reading it appears that the P220ST was used by LE. From what I understand, there were a lot of PDs that wanted magazine disconnects on their LEOs pistols. No.
