I just picked up a used PTR-91 I got a good deal on. Unfortunately being unfamiliar with the HK pattern rifles, I need someone to give me a rundown on the proceedure for zeroing the sights.

I was told it takes a tool? Is the tool a necessity or a "nice to have" item when zeroing the rifle? Thanks. :)

You need the tool, or you need to improvise one. JLD used to sell the tool, which I have, but JLD was sold and the new company (called PTR-91k, Inc.) doesn't seem to have the tool on their website.

As for the procedure, a good description and diagram can be found here: http://www.hkpro.com/sights.htm

    Good luck!
