Sight-in distance

    Is there a ballistic calculator where you can enter bullet weight, velocity etc... that will give you an optimal sight-in distance. I'm shooting a 3" 686 w/ 180gr LFN Buffalo Bore. It's a woods gun.

    I doubt you need a computer program to figure the Maximum Point Blank Range of a 3" 686!

    Sight it in for 50 yards and it will be good for as far as you can likely hit anything with it without holding up a bunch of front sight.

    If you sight it in for maximum PBR, you will constantly be shooting high at normal (closer) handgun distances.
