Silly guns that please us

I walked into a shop one day and saw this. I asked the guy what magazines it took. He said Beretta 92 series 9mm mags. I said ring it up.

It's so much fun to shoot. And then throw the non-empty mag into my CX-4. And then throw the still non-empty mag into my 92A1.

I've never seen one of those before. Looks like a lot of fun.

Silly, impractical BUT taking it to the range generates a lot of discussion.
I've actually made new good friends solely based on taking this pistol out of the safe & shooting it. Usually guys approach with something like "hey I couldn't help but notice that pistol...never seen one...BTW are you nuts? Ummm hey can I possibly take a shot?":)
Also shooting the 3 or 4 rounds before my wrist gives out stokes my ego.
That's a 500 S&W next to a .45 ACP btw.

I walked into my LGS last month and they had a micro UZI 9mm pistol for $2,000. Man did that make me smile. what a silly pistol. Magazines I believe hold 32 rounds? WOW!
( I didnt buy it because my mortgage would not get paid and I'd be divorced and homeless!)

North American Arms (NAA) Wasp. It is actually fun to shoot and because I put a glow sight on the front, it is mildly accurate also.

This is not the Wasp another version that is pretty much the same.

With a SB47 arm brace that could be the potential of a excellent HD firearm....

I've got several, the most prolific one would be my Hi Point 9mm carbine with the cheap reflex sight that goes thru batteries like kids go thru cookies. That is, when I can get it back from my son, who always brings it back when it's battery is dead. I've shot some really nice groups with it when I got it about 8-10 years ago.

I would love to have a mini 1911 in .32 or .380. They are so cool! Someday.

Someday I will find one the size of the browning 1911-380 but with the classy good looks and build quality of the sig p238. I wasn't impressed with all the plastic on the brownings.

I heard there are certain models of the old llamas that are nice but the one I saw I didn't like. I keep an eye out for them whenever I'm at a show.

I had an old Llama 380 that was well used. The sear began to not function and the little gun would dump a mag with pull. Ended up scrapping it since the serial number got damaged when I polished the aluminum grip frame (very soft alloy).
Thought it would be a great loading gun for wood walks and camping.

My Ruger MK II with the 10" barrel.
My Browning Buckmark Varmint and my Buckmark Silhouette, both with 10" barrels
My Ruger Single Seven. I already had a 586 and a Colt Officer's .38 Spl. But I didn't have a SA. Traded into the pistol and promptly had to buy three molds, 650 conversion, and dies. I'll need at least two more molds as I need/want a wadcutter and a Keith. Casting small bullets is a ton of fun. This is one of the molds I have now.

118 gr WFN from NOE. It's got three crimp grooves for use in .32 S&W Long, .32 H&R and .32 Federal.

Cc-hangfire, I think those original R51’s are about the coolest gun ever,,, If ever you want to get rid of it, let me know. I have one of the new ones and like it lots,, but the vintage ones, oh wow.

I have a couple. Colt Pocket Model 1903 32 ACP.jpg Here's one now. It is a 1903 in .32 ACP. Not really a fear inducing device, but cool all over and incredibly well made. I collect .32 ACP semi-automatics from the Art Deco period.
Here's another. Astra M300 7.65mm.jpg An Astra model 300, also in .32 ACP. Or 7.65mm Browning.

Another collection of silly guns. Dangerous game hunting rifles. Like this one. Ruger No 1 9.3x74R action and cartridge.jpg

I do have enough 'serious' guns to consider myself armed as well.

Then you might consider the Colt M-1903 in .32 ACP. This one was made in 1911 and isn't real accurate any more. I was considering a replacement barrel but 4 different gun stores thought that part of the reason is the opening in the frame might also be loose. It is 3/4" wide, about 5" tall and 6" long with an 8 + 1 capacity.

I have one of those m1903 in 32. Looks so good I'm skeptical it's been reblued. Serial 21xxx. But that's not silly to me.

Mine would have to be the last gun I purchased, a S&W 500. It's not just the run of the mill 500 either, but a John Ross Custom out of S&W's performance center. Number 02x of 250. It's got a 5" barrel held on by a big nut on the end. This pushes the barrel back, creating virtually zero cylinder gap.

It's not real fun to shoot, and not cheap either. But I got a decent deal for it, and couldn't pass it up. It kicks like an old mule. Or two. I've never had it to a range, as I own land to shoot on. If you run out of ammo, it makes a dandy club.

.357 mag sitting in the chamber. Yeah, that's a python too... where do you think I got the .357 round?!?

Definitely the pair of NAA-22S's that I inherited from my ex- FIL who had proudly dubbed them "righty and lefty." Though there are some fond memories with these two oftly brandished and ill-aimed little things, they just don't serve much of a purpose at all.

Definitely my 7.62 Nagant revolver. Don't shoot it a lot given the expense of ammo and apparent impossibility of reloading, but I am a Soviet/Russian history buff so a WWII production Soviet arm with unique engineering tickles my fancy. Fairly easy to carry in the field on the rare occasion I do so. Have shot the odd rabbit with it, too.

The other main candidate is the Bulgarian Makarov I bought a few years ago. A really nice, high quality pistol, but the chambering is south of a standard pressure 38 in power and it weighs almost as much as my 357 revolver does. Pretty much a toy which I pretend is a carry gun once in a while.
