Same weight bullet, same FPS range (about 2600).

Silver bear shoots 2 feet high on the "1" setting, 100yrds Chezch/Hungarian is right on for the most part, same for the reloads..

Even though they are the same weight for the bullets and FPS are the same range, even when the reloads were pushed up to 2800 fps, it still stayed at the same POA..

What gives?

Can you check the bullet dia. If the bullet is a bit bigger it stays in the barrel longer and the recoil makes it shoot higher. Same with what the bullet is made of and the friction it causes in the barrel.

That is absolutely true! I did not look at that.. I will have to do that. Right now I believe the surplus is .311 so are the reloads... I'm not sure about silver bear. They are all copper jacketed I believe. Silver Bear may be bi-metal I'll have to look.

Yep, I had some Wolf and it shot very high at two hundred yards. I've had MUCH better luck with the surplus stuff, either heavy or light vs the aftermarket. X

generally speaking, it has been documented by other dudes, according to any spec data they could dig up , from the factories, that silver bear, and even brown bear ammo, but mostly silver bear, can be a bit of a hot load.
