SIM-X Lead Free Ammo

Friend gave me these two boxes to try out. Have never used it. Has some impressive FPS numbers for handgun ammo.

Also told me there is a 60 grain .300 Win Mag version being tested at a hair over 5,000 FPS.

Made in the USA. Box of range ammo is using Starline brass. The DefenseCore uses a brass I’m not familiar with. Took a close up of it in case anybody knows it.

Interesting. I wonder how the recoil is from either of those rounds? I would think with 506 ft/lbs from the 45 grain snd 444 ft/lbs from the 50 grain there would be some pretty good recoil. At least within the handgun anyway.
I haven’t heard of this ammo.

I was told by my friend recoil was noticeably reduced. I’m going to try and shoot this stuff this week and possibly chrono it.

After I read your first post last night and responded I have been trying to remember the manufacturer and cartridge name of some ammo I tried a few years ago that had a very light bullet at a high velocity. I bought a 20 round box of each in .38 Spl and 9mm.
Recoil was minimal. Group size was not great but it was still within “That guy’s going down” groups.
It wasn’t by Sim X. It seemed like I only saw that ammo once and never again.

Anyway, I hope your findings are good when you try it out.
