I'm interested in getting a silver dollar holster from simply rugged. To use IWB and OWB. For my Ruger Sp 101 if you have one do you like it. Is it comfortable IWB and will it also work in a cross Draw position OWB . I currently have a cross Breed and just not a fan it squeaks to much for me

Try baby powder on the squeaky holster.

I have the holster in question for a few revolvers. They are ok, but I prefer hydex and leather hybrids like the cross breed better.

Is that a fix or do I need to keep putting it on my holster
Squeaking is usually the loops contacting with the belt. The powder provides a lubricating barrier and prevents, or at least lessens the squeaking. You may need to reapply periodically.

Wax is another product that works.

FTR, I own one for my J-frame S&W.

1. Good quality, simple, and rugged. Imagine that, just as advertised. Can recommend with confidence.

2. Retention is secure enough without a thumb/trigger guard strap/snap. And I am a "I like thumb snaps on my OWB holster" kinda guy. I assume I will fall down in the woods, or go bibbity-boppity down a slope. BTDT. Have not yet done so with my SDP, but I have done a handstand all rigged up shimmying & trying to shake it loose. After I was done and my kids stopped laughing, my J-frame was still in the holster. Overall coverage of gun is good, too, protection-wise.

3. That security comes at a price. If your J-frame / small-frame snubby has boot grips, old school S&W factory wood grips, or pretty much any grip that does NOT extend below the grip frame, you will find getting a hand on the grip is harder and will take longer to draw than most any other belt holster. You'll have to adjust your grip a bit after drawing.

4. Don't let Rob talk you out of the third slot on the Silver Dollar Pancake. I did and ended up having to buy another holster for cross draw and my SDP is not compatible with his nifty-looking chest rig. Live & learn.

5. Not the best IWB, kinda T.H.I.C.K., IMO. SDP is primarily OWB, can do IWB, but that is not its forte. The price you pay for thick & rugged leather and a compromise design. You want quality & comfy IWB, Milt Sparks Summer Special, VM2, and clones thereof are where it's at.

Thanks for your response roo ster that's what I wanted to hear. I do have holsters by milt Sparks for my P938 and find the quality top notch. If I go with the silver dollar I'll skip the IWB option and get the 3rd slot for cross draw option.

I wear the Silver Dollar pancake(3 slot) for my SP101 2.25" OWB 3 o'clock. I've worn it IWB but OWB conceals pretty well even under a t-shirt as it doesn't protrude much below the belt. I've got the Hogue rubber grip on my SP and it gives me a full grip on the draw. Crossdraw the Hogue sticks out like a sore thumb on me and not as comfortable.

I have a couple of these holsters. They are great and work as advertised. They are not quick draw type holsters but provide a great compromise between access and protection for the firearm. Find them very comfortable with a big handgun. I have only used mine strong side.
