If it is in fact a Colt Single-Action Army, it is an 1873 Model.
Can't even guess what year it was made without the serial number.
And good photo's wouldn't hurt either.

I have a reference that suggests the 1894 Colt Army revolver was issued in Greece in 38 cal... and that in 1914-15 the Greek army bout 25,000 Army specials from Colt. ()These were .38 S&W or .38 Long Colt.

Following your remarks I spent the night cleaning the gun so I get the serial number:

On the barrel side it reads:
COLT ARMY SPECIAL .38
On the barrel's top it reads:
PTF A.MFG CO.HARTFORD DT.USA
PATD. AUG 5 1884 JUNE 5 1900 JULY4 1905

That's a double action Army Special, not a Single Action Army.

As Dr Rob says, this is from the contract of 1914.
A prior thread mentioning that the Greek army was the only military to ever buy the Army Special, after which Colt renamed the revolver the Official Police.

Caliber is probably .38 Special.
Look in the chambers and see if you see the step down from cartridge case diameter to bullet diameter. That would indicate .38 Special manufacture.
If the chambers are bored straight through that would be for .38 Long Colt, but 1914 is late for them to still be making .38 Long Colt revolvers.

If it says COLT ARMY SPECIAL .38 on the barrel it is a .38 Special.
Use standard pressure lead bullet .38 Special loads.
No +P ammo, & no jacketed bullets, as those old guns are --- ahhh? Old!

That MIGHT be a 38 S&W. Not a .38 Special.
If you have a gun shop of any kind (not sure how that works in Greece) nearby they can check both kinds of ammo for you.
Both kinds of ammo are still made, though 38S&W is fairly rare to find in the USA.
