Single Shot Scatterguns

I still have the old 36 inch full choke single shot 10 gauge I bought sometime around 78-80. Haven’t shot it in many decades but when you could still use lead, a 2 1/4 oz load of copper plated BBs was the real deal on geese.
I would most definitely be one and done on that little fella.

A gunzine writer shot singles all one year and wrote that he did not miss enough doubles on game to matter.
Said he asked a gunmaker about offering a nice single, "maybe with a little engraving".
The gunmaker replied that he might be able to sell as many as 50, all told.

I like them for field use, it's very satisfying cracking the action open after each shot, and pulling out that spent round followed by a trailing stream of fresh gunsmoke. I was doing skeet shooting recently with a friend's single shot 12 guage, and I loved it!

I would never want to rely on one for home defense, or dangerous game defense though... When you say you have one by your headboard at the moment, is that also what you're using it for?
Yup. Better’n my Beretta 1934

ENTROPY is that a money maker rib on your single barrel shotgun?, my tc encore has killed a pile of turkeys, but i would like to kill one with my browning BT 100 trap shotgun with 34 " barrel. it has over 40,000 rounds thru it and the only part i had to replace(did it myself) was the firing pin last summer. i will try to kill a turkey in may with it, with a tss#9 loaded 2-3/4 by a friend who loads tss shells. with no safty i will only load it when tom turkey is on the way.

No, it's a factory Ljutic Centennial, or "Mid rib".

It’s not a “single shot” per se, but a single barrel!
Savage M220 20ga “Rifle”
With a Remington AeroTip, it’s sub 3moa at 100yds.
Mostly I use the Federal 3/4oz sabot slugs (under $2 apiece), but do have a good stash of the aero tips.
I’ve also got a “home brew” slug using the Lee .578” REAL bullet in a 7/8oz wad over a quantity of LongShot for about 1,300fps.

My younger brother has a H&R 158 Topper 20ga that he had cut to 20” and a PolyChoke installed. Also, a Williams Guide reciever sight, and Williams front ramp, and sling studes/swivels and sling! He’s shot a LOT of grouse, ect with it while otherwise big game hunting.

Not to mention the Savage .22/410 (w/tennite stock) behind the book cabinet w/Aguila Interceptor and 4-pellet buckshot!
