    A Yugo, obviously...

Tho' it don't look much like it's being used anywhere near Yugoslavia (or what's left of it.).

The Yugo has to be the most distinctive looking of all the SKSs. The Albanian is almost as easy to I.D. but you need to see more of the rilfe than just the muzzle sometimes.

Where was this pic taken? I remember seeing Iraqi soldiers fighting in the streets against the U.S. and some had SKSs. I think I remember seeing a Yugo with a grenade attached ready to be shot if needed. I also saw what looked like your typical SKS up close a few times. It may have been a Russian or some other SKS but the Iraqi army was still using SKSs during the last war. Not a bad service record for a 50+ year old gun.

Is it me or does it look like it's missing the gas tube cover?

The gas tube hand-guard is further back. It also has the sling attached.

It's blurry, but it looks to me like it's the green web type with a metal clip.

Notice how the media, who hate guns, never miss a chance to show one? Why not just show them at prayer? Because no one would look at it.

They don't hate guns. They just hate YOU (or me) having a gun.

Guns are big money makers for the media. They love guns.

My first instinct was the pic was taken in Cali, but if the grenade launcher is still attached, it is obviously somewhere else...

The picture was taken through the loophole at an Iraqi Gunshow. That's why you don't see the whole gun.:p
