SKS vs AK 47 (Which Is Best At 200+ Yards?)

If you ask me , scope either one and you will be ok. I had a scope on my AK and it made my groups phenomenally better and it was just a cheap 20 dollar 4x lol.

yeah dude I can hit a pie plate every time with my FAL at 300 yards go for it... if you are shooting coyotes for pest control then really who cares you WILL kill them with a shot in the vitals but I'd imagine you'd probably ruin the pelt and may not recover them... again for pest control who cares, but if you are hunting for fur use a rifle designed for that purpose or it will be worthless I'd imagine (at market anyway).

My main reason for doing this is I plan on buying an AK 47 very soon so my SKS won't get much use after that. So, rather than retire my SKS I decided to scope it and use it as varmint rifle, coyotes and such.

Most say the SKS is pretty much useless past 150 yards but I've heard others claim they've had very good results with a scoped SKS at 200+ yards. I can hit a paper plate with my Norinco SKS, iron sights at 100 yards all day long, so I thought adding a scope might increase my range, hopefully out to 200 yards. If I can drop a coyote in it's tracks at 200 yards I'll be very happy.

Both are battle sighted to 300 yards. That's minute of human torso, if the shooter does his/ her part. I've shot both, and I prefer the SKS in accuracy.

My Norinco SKS with tech-sights and kivaari trigger job will out shoot my bone stock Mak-90 at any distance past 150 yards...but it is really not a fair comparison.

The most accurate semi-auto I have owned one of VEPR K0.223. Comparison of SKS in 7.62x39 but almost always beat all, but the "best" AK, and sometimes even then.
