The pump is considered the trigger in that case. The idea is that you do one cyclic action, and one round is fired.

Right. Your not firing multiple rounds with one trigger pull. The action of pulling the pump backwards while the trigger is held down, causes physical movement rather than mechanical movement. One replaces the other.

Well, when you have guys like Glenn Beck and Lou Dobbs being critical of the way Olofson was railroaded, I suspect the jack-booted, sturmtruppen, thug bastards of the Waffen BATFEces probably screwed him over.

Anything they're involved in should be eyed with suspicion.

Both of them have the resources to help him with competent counsel. If they really wanted to join the fight, they could have have sponsored his defense or they could sponsor his appeal. To my knowledge they did nothing but talk about it so more people would watch and listen to their shows.

So?

No talk show host could possibly pay the legal expenses for every citizen screwed by the criminal justice system in this country. Its not like it is a huge percentage of cases, but $50 or $100k a few thousand times will deplete anyones bank account.

No, but they would be a lot more credible if they helped the ones they used to increase their ratings. It's one thing to seize an issue and talk about it on your program so that more people listen/watch and your ratings climb. And it's something else to actually do something about it. I know that Beck and Dobbs are "journalists" and supposedly above the fray, but what good did all their coverage do for Olofson? Did a competent attorney hear his story and offer to defend him pro bono? Did the public outcry on this and every other firearms forum scare the government into disbanding the BATFE? Did thousands of enraged gun owners write their congresspeople and fill up town hall meetings with angry protests?

Let's look at who did benefit from Olofson's stupidity. Beck and Dobbs got a good subject to talk about. The JPFO and GOA got a case to propagandize and stir gunowners emotions with and maybe got a bump in fund raising. In the mean time, Oloson is still stupid, but now he's stupid and in prison. And the government sleeps better at night knowing that a harmless stupid person who wanted to play with illegal firearms is safely behind bars.....

I don't see where this is a win for anyone but JPFO and GOA and Glenn Beck and Lou Dobbs.

Everyone used Olofson. The poor guy probably didn't even get a kiss when it was over with.

I wasn't at the trial. I didn't see all of the evidence. As such, I'm not going to call names on a person I've never even met.


I sure hope if I ever have a trial, people will keep an open mind and not judge me by what they read online.
