Slide locking back

I picked up a used Nighthawk T3 (1911) and when I took it to the range, the slide would lock back while shooting. It happened with every shooter and several different magazines.

I searched these threads but couldn't find the problem talked about before, but if I missed it, my apologies.

Suggestions?

Please post the brand, bullet weight, and type of bullet you are shooting.

I would not expect it on a Nighthawk Custom hand fitted gun.

But short truncated cone FMJ, JHP, or flat point bullets my slide foreword in the magazine under recoil and bump the slide stop up.

Let us know what you are shooting in it.

It could also be a deformed or defective slide stop /safety plunger spring.

Or a replacement slide stop Nighthawk didn't have anything to do with.
