You can get used German police trade in P7 PSP's (they're really E's) for a decent price, around $650 - $700 nowdays. However, they are heavy, so you'll need a decent belt and holster, but they are WORTH IT.

Im going to go check out a Taurus 709, Walther PPS, and KelTec p9 that my dealer got in this week. I have done alot of reading on these guns but havent had the chance to actually pick one up.

Best slim 9mm out there IMHO. Extremely reliable, accurate and very slim. My 3914 is the only handgun I own that I can comfortably carry IWB.

I carry my PF9 more than anything else I own. It is the best combo of light and slim. It is honestly more comfortable for me on the hip than an lightweight revolver in the pocket.

I have had half a dozen "small" guns for the warmer months when i can't easily conceal a double stack 16+ round gun and the PF9 is by far the easiest carry.

I found a First Edition at my local dealer today. Carrying case, holster, 3 mags, and a nice lock. I inherited a Smith 686, so I traded in my 6" Taurus .38 for something that would be more easily concealed. I came away with the Walther for $30.00 after handing over my taurus 82.

I was dead set on a single stack 9mm, but something about the lines of the Walther sold me over the KelTec PF9 / P11 and the Taurus 709.

Went to the gun show today

OK, there was a gun show locally, so I got a chance to look at most of the guns everyone recommended to me. All good suggestions, by the way!

Here is what I saw and liked today:

1. Taurus 709 "Slim" - I really liked the width of this gun, but my pinky kept slipping off and that was very distracting.
2. Kahr P45 - Loved it, but a little pricey right now.
3. Sig P229/228 - This gun felt good in my hand, but the decocker seemed a bit awkward.
4. Smith 39xx - A good choice, but it was in a really used condition so I had to pass it up. If I can find one just like nwilliams has, I'd grab it up in a second.
5. Taurus PT140 Pro - For some reason, I really liked this gun. It's fairly small, it's a 40 cal (not my original intention, but I dig it), and it fit my hand perfectly.

Out of everything I saw, I'm thinking the PT140 ($329 plus tax) is the winner. It seems like a great price, a good fit, and a decent amount of power in a small package. (Plus, I don't currently have a .40.)

So, how is it in terms of reliability? Does anyone have any experience with it? Anyone love it? Hate it? (Yes, I know it's ugly but it'll be concealed so that' OK).

Had the PT111 (9mm version). It sucked. However, it served me well when I couldn't afford anything better and it never had a failure thru the 1500 or so rds I put thru it.

I don't know about a PT-140, but I do own a PT-145 and I know what you mean with the grip, feels pretty good holding it. But like I said, I have a PT-145 and it has never gave me any problems. Kinda pickey about ammo, but still awesome handgun.

My Walther PPS 9mm is a great conceal carry pistol. Completely reliable, shoots all flavors of ammo, accurate, thin, good ergonomics and great German quality.

Keltec PF-9; while I didn't like the .380 P3-AT, I have loved my PF-9. In over 12 months and over 500 rounds, not a single problem. Very light, and slimmest on market.
