I am interested in making an 870 accessible for a sling without drilling the buttstock. What I have in mind is setting up the shotgun with one of those magazine caps like this http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/44426 and getting a sling that will wrap around the buttstock in a secure fashion. I have an el-cheapo nylon sling similar to this, but wanted to get a good, sturdy one for a friend on the occasion of her college graduation to decorate her new 870.
