With a ghost ring sight and the finding the ammo the barrel likes the best, is it too much to hope that it would have milk jug accuracy @100 yds?

Probably not. Most pumps with slug of choice will keep them on a paper plate at 100 yards. But...

A bit of tuning may be required and is certainly a good idea.

Eliminating slop between barrel and receiver is mandatory.

Getting a clean trigger less than say, 4 lbs is also.

The older and more fragile I become, the more I think most shotgunners fall short of getting best accuracy from their slug/showgun combination because benching with slugs is nigh onto torture for many. Using a wearable recoil pad like the PAST, adding weight and using good bench form will make the experience tolerable.

A good rule of thumb with slugs is to limit one;s shots to within whatever distance bench work will put them into 4" or so. Under the uncertainties of field conditions, this translates into Minute of Deer Shoulder nicely.
