I have two 642s, one with 3 inch barrel and one with 2 inch barrel. I like them both. I shoot better with the longer barrel which I carry in a IWB holster. The two inch is carried in my front pocket with a pocket holster. I sometimes carry them both at the same time (NY reload). My department requires we qualify with off-duty guns. Never had a problem qualifying with either.
