Got my 442 last week and came back yesterday and saw this 438, this things really multiply by themselves, just like the idea of having to do a SA pull if i want to, still have the 442 i'll save it for my wife when she gets her ccw permit..
I was deciding bet this 438 or this one http://www.impactguns.com/store/022188602289.html ,but it was out of my budget at 600..

Got to love those 2" J frames. I have the 638, and carry it almost every day.

I'm glad to see they finally came out with a replacement for the M38 and a M638 companion... They already have have the M642/M442 combo, the M438 was overdue IMO...

Very nice indeed, my 638 is with me when everything else is left behind. I think you made the right choice now your wife and you to will have great CCW guns in a solid platform.

What if your wife decides she likes the idea of the possible SA pull on the 438?:what::what::what:

You might end up with even more!

Funny you should post this model, as this past Saturday I was checking it out at the store. The lightness is remarkable. I hefted the 438, then an SP101 and the Ruger felt like a brick in comparison. The option of shooting SA is important and that's why I'm looking very closely at this one.
