Greetings, was looking for a late holiday gift for myself, why else works OT?, got hooked on the idea of a Model 10 bull barrel .38 reading about the exploits of Jim Cirillo. Found one and scooped it up. Wheel gun enthusiast and a DA devotee. Any one have one and whats your opinions?

The 4" bull barrel is of my favorite versions of the Model 10. Great having that weight out front like that; perfectly balanced and handled like a dream. Have had a couple over the years but nothing currently. Please post a photo of your new wheelgun when you get a chance.

It will never let you down.

I carried a bull barrel Model 10 in the early 1970s while working corporate security in an unhealthy part of San Francisco and Oakland and felt well armed. Better ammo nowadays.

I am looking for a 5 inch pencil model myself. I love the old 10!

You will like it.

Had a 5" pencil barrel Model 10 awhile back. Picked it up at a gun show from an older gentleman who was the original owner and had the gun for many years. While it had great balance and handling characteristics with the 5" barrel I was really looking more for a home defense gun and eventually traded it for a 4" barrel M&P revolver made during WWII.

I have a police trade in Model 10 HB. It was in pretty good shape, came with hogue grips. Actually wish it had the originals.

It has a very smooth action and shoots well. Stacks full wadcutter reloads nice and tight on target.

The 5 inch tube seems to balance it out, at least in my hand. Those old "Victory" models are sweet!

Close but not quite a "Victory Model"; mainly because it doesn't have the V prefix with the serial number or any U.S. Ordnance markings. More than likely it was used by a security guard at some factory (there's an electro-pencilled "GE Co" on the right side plate, perhaps for "General Electric Co."?). It's still a great piece of working history in decent condition and more than capable in the home defense role.

I'll play.

I found a nice one in a country gun store, no box or papers, just a pristine old revolver. Shoots as sweet as she looks. My other Model 10 is a snubby that keeps my missus safe.

Here she is by herself, and with some others who keep her from being lonely. She's on the bottom of course, the others have the adjustable sights; Models 15, 18, 19.

Model 10's?

I had a Model 10 bull barrel as a policeman in the late 70s. I remember the trigger was like glass. I shot first place in my class with it. Now you got me wanting one again!

as soon as I take delivery. Coming from Prescott.

I remember that Hello Kitty thread. I don't remember the high tech, fancy, blended in shading on the cylinder?
My model 13 has a heavy barrel, I guess it's about the same thing as a model 10 except it's a .357.

What kind of grips are on yours, swissfist? When I started pistol shooting, in the 1980's, it was common to replace S&W K-frame stocks right away.
They said original wood squared bottom grips.

Looked for a 13, they're pretty scarce and get snapped up pretty quick.

I carry a 3 inch Model 10 with a round butt pretty regularly. It is far and away the best shooting double action revolver I own and I don't feel under-armed.

I've been looking for a Model 13 in the same configuration, but haven't found one I can afford yet.

Real gun, what exactly are you referring to with "K magnum cylinder window"?

If the K frame was changed to accommodate 357 Magnum, when did that occur? I refer only to the length of the cylinder window in the frame and stretching of other components.
