While I was prowling around looking for good deals at my fav-o-rite money hole today I spotted, of all things bright and beautiful, a 4" N-frame Smith in .44 S&W Spl. Nestled in all the other black, blue, stainless...( 40 shades of it)...and plastic was a beautiful factory nickel .44SPL N frame. No gold stuff on the sides of the frame. Just an extra~pretty pair of magna grips and acres of nickel. I had looked at, and passed on, the Thunder Ranch .44SPL, and the new M-29. Also on the N-Framed 4" .45ACP. But this bi-bore nickel Smith had my name on it from the start.
In short I have crabbed about Smith losing the "recipe" for good revolvers over the past few years, but I'll happily say now that it isn't remaining that way. If they keep this trend of bringing back older styled wheelguns I will start to look for more Smiths. If anyone likes the older Smith revolvers patience is winning and they are bringing them back.
