Are they getting more popularly used in shooting competitions vs the Glock 35 ?

No, but the Glock 35 doesn't see all that much use except as a beginner's gun either.

In IDPA SSP and USPSA Production 9mm is king, so you mostly see Glock 34's and other 9mm's.

.40S&W is optimal in USPSA Limited but from what I've personally seen the VAST majority of shooters use an STI 2011 or another double-stack 1911 variant. The ones who aren't are the people who are just shooting whatever they brung and want want to load up the mags to full capacity. A very, very small number of people seem to shoot appropriately geared Glock 35's or M&P's in .40S&W.

That said, I shoot an M&P 9L in Production and greatly prefer the ergonomics of it to my Glock 17, so if I was going to shoot a polymer gun in Limited I'd go M&P before Glock.

Have they been approved yet. I love mine but have not used it in IPSC cause I thought it was almost approved.
