Hello all!
And in case I don't post again prior, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! My question is this, what do people use for dry-firing their 22wmr's ? My reason for asking is that I have a High Standard Mark IV with a horrendous DA trigger. Since I'm a big fan of dry-firing to loosen up and smooth out a trigger prior to getting professional help, I'm looking for help on this. A-Zoom has some, but the reviews are not good for prolonged action. It seems like they're good for occasional trigger testing but not heavy trigger break-in. I've noticed this with them myself with a .38. Actually used them hard enough to break the rims off! Fortunately the trigger was good by the time I wore them out.

The revolver itself is very solid all steel construction. Almost looks new. Accuracy isn't bad for a 2" barrel. No target gun, but good enough for a "dog walking" gun around my low to no crime area. Got more issues with critters than criminals up my way. Even the occasional black bear will run at the horrendous crack of a .22 Mag out of a short barrel!(as long as cubs aren't involved!). Scared off plenty of stray dogs with a shot or two out of my NAA Black Widow. Of course it took my ears a bit to recover.

So what ideas do you kind gentleman use or have? I'd really like to smooth out this trigger some.

Snap-Caps for rim-fire calibers are almost non-existent.

The reason being, there is no way to put a spring loaded cushion in a rim-fire cartridge like they do in center-fire calibers.

Your best bet is go to a hardware store and buy a box of plastic wall screw anchors the correct size to fit the chambers.

Even then, you have to rotate them every couple of snaps or the firing pin will beat a dent in the same place in the rim and they will do no good.

A-Zoom has not made .22 rim-fire snap-caps that I know of.
What they do make in rim-fire calibers are Action Proving Dummy rounds.
They are not intended to work as snap-caps to protect the firing pin.

I also use wall anchors as snapcaps for rimfire.

It just isn't possible to get a spring-loaded cushion in the tiny space of a rimfire dummy cartridge. Using cheap wall anchors at least means your disposable snap-cap was cheap.

Just take an empty casing to the hardware store and buy a box/bag/pocket full of anchors that replicate the rim size/shape.
