Anyone know if H&J is still around? My in laws live in the Renton Highlands...might have to swing by there if they're still around.

I used to live less than a block from H&J (in 1987). When this occured, I lived about 10 miles away, but my wife was a kindergarten teached at Renton Highlands Elementary. I shopped there occasionally until I moved away in 1998. Last time I was by there (August 2004) the shop was gone.

I think I recall reading about that gunshop incident. My memory is foggy, but from what I recall, the clerk who did the shooting was a competitive shooter who burned something like 500 rounds a week in practice. His sidearm that day was a brand-new 10mm colt that he had just strapped on. He had never fired it before.

The article pointed out that he landed three dead-center hits on the perp.
