So i had come across some stainless steel nipples that the description said fit number 11 caps...theyre called "uncle mikes/butler creek"...and in the past i had run into posts about them and seemed to have read they are discontinued or such. But i found some at a great price...less than half the price of my usual slixshots. So i figured i give them a try. I have to say i am very satisfied with their craftmanship and how well they fit remington 10 and 11 caps and CCI 11s. They also seem to have a smaller flash hole than stock or even slixshots...i think they may have the same size hole as Treso ampco material nipples. If you all are intetested in a quality nipple and at a very very very good price....heres the link:

And for old armies..

The price is right! Do CCI #11 caps fit on them? I just might have to buy some and give them a try.

You got me. I ordered two sets of Pietta nipples.

Lol mike you wont regret it. They're actually really great quality. The stainless steel seems to be the same dull stainless that slixshot uses, atleast they look like the same type. They have features like the ones you get from track of the wolf too. Theyre stainless, great fitment to caps, and have small vent holes to prevent blowback just like treso nipples...so i feel you get a lot for the price. I think there was maybe a lot of old stock somewhere that was found and sold to retailers because i see other small black powder supply retailers selling them too. Like the Possible Shop (which i freakin love!) has them listed on thir site saying "found some old stock uncle mike stainless nipples" and are selling them for 29.99 a set. Im sure they know their value and thats why theyre selling them for the usual rate....where as The Gun Works sells them for half the price but probably because they get them at such a low price and just want to get rid of them to make profit, or dont know their true value, or both...maybe. All i know is that theyre great quality and retail for higher and i was able to get them for half the going rate...and thats because theyre not made anymore. Im sure you wont regret

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I went thru that whole site and couldn't find any nipples. Is there a better link,????.

On the left hand side click on "shooting aids" and then it will pull up a new area of the website...then click on nipples..then click on revolvers

Thanks @TheOutlawKid

Ordered some as well, the "old army" version. I'll probably be wishing I had ordered two sets if they end up working well. The CCI #11s have been my usual lately since I can't find the Remington caps around here.

What was the shipping time like?

I got them right away within 2 days i believe. It was sent via usps. I had actually ordered them through ebay but they put their website info in the package and checked out the site and then shared it with everyone here.

I got mine in two days. Mine came today they look good I tried them out in the nipple cleaning plates I made. They fit like a glove.

I saw these on another forum, or maybe here. Someone said they were making and maybe selling them.

Also saw question mentioned why a plate hasn't been made with different thread pitches and sizes commonly found on nipples to help identify unknown sizes we may have laying around. I could use something like that.

As far as a cleaning plate, I take mine out and dump them and other small parts in a shot glass sized container of 50/50 awesome water. Thats also an OutlawKid recommendation that I've been using for a while with good results. This guy is full of helpful hints apparently!

That said, the plate isn't something I would likely use for actual cleaning.

I recall seeing a photo of a homemade "nipple holder" cleaning accessory a long time ago.

It was a thin, flat piece of metal with holes drilled into it that held the nipples in place.
It served as a nipple holder so that the threads could be cleaned with a brass brush without causing skin abrasion to the finger tips.
I can't locate the photo of it, but it looked like a long flat part from an erector set.
Is that the same purpose of your nipple cleaning plates?

That's a good idea.
I found this chart of the most common nipple thread sizes that mykeal posted on the MLF.
It may be posted somewhere on THR too.
Keywords - Nipple size chart, nipple sizes.

I've been cleaning the nipples about once a yr. since I saw a report from a CAS shooter that sealed the threads with automotive anti-seize and removed to clean about one or two times a year, I do clean outside with tooth brush and inside with tooth pick and Ballistol and water. I've been doing this for over 3 yrs and nipples still work fine and free of residue where it counts, and they do unscrew easily even after a year.

These plates are work in progress I cut an drilled and taped them. I still have to round the corners and finish the metal. I have done the two-shot glass thing one with moose milk and one with oil for as long as I can remember. The nipple plate is to hold nipples while cleaning plus it kept me off the streets for a few hours.

Now the nipples can be hung out to dry more quickly than ever.

That what I was thinking and it should make the brushing and cleaning easier. One is for Pietta and the other is for Uberti. I need to find out what thread my Walker and Dragoon are and make one for them.
