So my anti sister moved to Colorado

My vegetarian nephew is going to freak out when he starts seeing deer-heads poking out of the backs of pickup trucks.

Gloating may be immature, but dang is it fun.

Put her in centeral Denver...

Put her in central Denver. It's already a lost cause anyway. It's home of Diane DeGette (D.) US House, who was named as one of the 10 most anti-gun representatives.

It's also has the highest crime rate in the state, fancy that.

The Eastern plains (Elbert, Lincoln, El Paso county) are really nice and not too far from the metro area. It takes me about 40-50 minutes to get to South Denver/North Aurora (where most of the gun shops are). The only down side is we get howling winds, the worst of the snow storms and the temperature averages about 10 degrees lower than Denver. And IREA (electric company out here) is rather notorious for routine outages lasting anywhere from minutes to hours. But otherwise there's not many places I'd rather be.

Zundfolge, if it will make you feel any better, the parents of a friend of mine (both CHL holders) have just moved to Colorado. He and his wife (both CHL holders) are looking at moving there. My wife and I (she currently has more firearms than I do) are thinking about moving there. A friend of mine (Marine Recon Scout Sniper) and his wife are thinking of moving to Colorado.
We will do our best to counter the anti influence.
The more sane folk the merrier :D

I recommend any part of the state but the Denver/Boulder area, Vail, Aspen and the eastern 1/3rd of the state (good people in the east, but not much point in moving to Colorado if its gonna look like Kansas :scrutiny: ).

At any rate, keep an eye on the rallying point forum as our annual Colorado get together at Larry Ashcraft's place usually happens around the end of the summer ... good eats, good company, some pistol shooting (Larry's little range isn't set up for rifles) maybe some clay pigeons again this year ... ooh and maybe Billl will bring his mortar again :D

I used to live in Ft. Collins. I thought it was great that my friends and I could go no more than 30 minutes out of town and ask just about any cattle rancher if we could shoot prarie dogs on their land. We were never turned down, and half the time the ranchers would give us some ammo and rerquest we "get one for them" too.

A buddy of mine who still lives there does confirm that Ft. Collins has become more liberal over the last few years though.

If I move to Colorado, it is going to be in the mountains. I agree, if I'm going to live in the plains, I might as well stay where I'm at (Dallas/Ft. Worth area is the edge of the plains). However, considering what I do for a living (web design and online instructional design), my best job prospects are metropolitan areas.
