So whats up with Rohrbaugh?

I've had my Rohrbaugh since October of 2004. I've only shot about 400 rounds of Winchester white box target loads and Speer GDHP 124gr so far. It went "bang" every time that I wanted it to (no failures of any sort). I've concealed it in everthing that I wear outside of a swimming pool, and I'm only 5' 9" 170lb. It easily conceals in my front pocket in a RJ Hedley holster (and doesn't look like I'm carrying a large square bagel in my pocket). It's smaller than a Kahr or Keltec 9mm in every dimension, and lighter weight too (weight is a significant factor in concealability IMO). There is no plastic/polymer used in the construction of the Rohrbaugh, and the frame to slide fit is second to none (which keeps out lint and such from pocket carry). All of the machining is top rate. All edges are bevelled so that nothing can "catch" when pulling this 9mm from concealment. The trigger is smooth and consistent, and it is a true double action firing mechanism. This allows me to practice "dry firing" with a snap-cap, and allows for striking a failed primer a second time before clearing the round. A larger Kahr or Glock won't allow either of these functions (without manually cycling the slide). The pistol is expensive, and I sold two handguns to afford mine, but it fills a niche that no other manufacturer does. If you get the opportunity to hold one you'll appreciate the craftmanship and understand that this is not a mass produced gun. And in my opinion, if you shoot one you'll find a way to buy one.

The Rohrbaugh isn't for everyone, I guess. But I'll always own and carry one.

I'm suffering from Norohrbaughitis. Donations for the cure can be sent to my Paypal account.
