So, some of you may remember that I was thinking of selling my CZ-75B to fund an XDm-45 Compact. Long story short, the CZ filled the exact same role as my Glock 17 and I didn't shoot it nearly as well. It was merely a range gun and was too big and heavy to carry. You can see my reasoning here:

Bottom line, I sold it and bought an XDm-45 Compact. :D

Best decision I ever made. The XDm is smaller, lighter, and I shoot it much better. I put 100 rounds through it today, here are the results.

50 Rounds @ 7 yards

XDM-15Yards.gif
50 Rounds @ 15 yards

I like it. For some reason I just seem to shoot striker-fired pistols better than single action autos. No use in fighting what works for me. Still too new to even think about carrying it, but the 100 rounds all fed, fired, and ejected without incident. By way of comparison, here's what I did with my Glock 17 today at 15 yards:

Two things: 1) I LOVE THIS GUN. 2) Damn, 45 ACP ammo is EXPENSIVE!

Congrats! It's always awesome to find a gun that shoots well for you. I'm a CZ nut, but I can appreciate that there are 'other' guns out there. :)

Thanks! That CZ-75B was a damn reliable piece with over 5,500 trouble-free rounds through it...it was just time for a change.

I love CZ's but if it fills the same need as another gun you shoot better I think you made a wise decision.

Congrats on the new pick up, may she serve you well.

Glad it worked out for you. I did just the opposite; I traded a full-size XDS for a compact 75B! Like many others, I'm addicted to the CZ platform. I also prefer a steel frame and CZ and it's clones still make many models to choose from.

Now you might want to look into reloading the .45acp. That is one nice looking pistol!

777TRUTH, thanks! Yeah, The CZ was a good gun but it was duplicative.

rayatphonix, agreed. That's why I think its hilarious when some people become irrationally committed to one brand above all others for EVERYONE. Different people shoot different guns, um, differently. Don't fight what works for you.

Kahuna5, no kidding that beep is expensive.

I sold my XD and my Glock and now I only own CZs :) glad you are happy with your trade up.

CZ 75 Shadow SA and CZ SP01

Great thread. I own a CZ75b SA and I really like it but it's totally impractical for carry. Coincidentally I just picked up a Springfield XDs which is easy to carry and shoots great. Now I'm thinking about an XDm in .45 to serve as a go to nightstand gun. Question - has anyone found the XDm to be more accurate than the standard XD?

CTGunner, I had an XD-45 "Tactical" several years back that I loved and shot well. That was a full 5" gun, and I shoot this 3.8" XDm better. I don't know if that has to do with the balance, a better trigger, or whathaveyou, but that's the case, at least for me.

I love my CZ75B. That said I agree with you in shooting whatever works for you. Personally I don't carry mine either but only because my wife has taken it over as it fits her hand perfect and she shoots it so well.

berettaprofessor, nope, no 22, orange targets were 45 and the blue target was 9mm.

Great decision for YOU.

Not one i would be willing to make.

Yup, we can all only speak for ourselves. :D That was the whole point of this thread, not to bash CZ, which makes a very fine pistol at a bargain price.
