My sister in law was out with her friends one night and for whatever reason the conversation turned to guns. One of her friends said, "I would certainly feel more comfortable having a gun in the house when I have home alone". The other girls asked her if she would be comfortable having to shoot someone and she said, "absolutely". Nice to see that she at least had the right idea and knew that her life was more valuable than some scumbag that broke into her house trying to bring her harm.

My sister-in-law told her that if she wanted to learn more, as in what to get or where to go to learn to shoot, I could help her out. Haven't heard from her yet. Hopefully she does, I am sure I could quickly find a suitable instructor for her in town, or just take her to the range myself once.

I think the point of this little story is that just because mainstream media would have us think that all guns are evil and bad, everyday folk realize the necessity to protect yourself and that the firearm is going to be one of the most effective ways to do so.

For the record my sister-in-law is neither pro nor anti and after living with my wife and I for a couple of months just sees firearms as another tool. Sounds like she is more towards the pro side since she suggested her friend go out there and get some training if she wanted to get a gun. She also isn't dumb and didn't go and give out my name, address & phone number telling her that I have guns. She just mentioned to her friend that if she was serious her brother-in-law (me) could help her out.

We'll see how it goes.
