There was an attempt a few years ago that got some traction for safe storage. Can’t really say that I am against that. If I recall correctly the bill was killed early because the requirement for safe storage equipment put an unconstitutional burden on the gun owner. If a person can’t afford a cheap storage case and a padlock then they have bigger fish to fry than gun ownership. Now we have parents buying guns for kids and giving the kids unsupervised access. When the shtf scenario makes the news, the parents are catching hefty sentences for it. Seems like it’s coming back around but this time it’s coming through the back door rather than the front. Can’t really say I’m against that either in this situation.We also cannot legislate responsible behavior.
