Someone's Going Broke...

Thanks. Busy day here. Had a good laugh at this one.

I could be a millionaire.
Seriously, I would take what I have now and then take every dime I have to my name and clean out every store within a 100 mile radius of me. :)

Who came up with this idea ? And what were they thinking ?

Anybody with two brain cells to rub together is cleaning out WalMart right now and on their way to the church as fast as they can. Hell, gun store owners should clean out their inventory: this is more money than they make selling some calibers. Cases of .22 LR for $5000 a case ? I think I could live with that.

I guarantee that local gun owners will show up and the church will not honor this. If they did, I would drive there and again, I would be a millionaire. I would happily sell them every bullet and every round of loaded ammo I have for a buck a piece and would be happy to load it all up and drive there.

And I wouldn't feel the least bit guilty about it. It was their idea, not mine.

The questions you want to ask are: who is the Inheritance Groups (sponsor), and how deep are their pockets.

Maybe I can even win the car to go buy more bullets with the money they will give me.

I am a bit confused here. Top poster - legit? Doesn't make sense. And - what do the two have to do with each other?

I'm sure this is already being passed around among gun folks near Louisville, and I have no doubt that there will be a slightly funny scene. I'm also sure that they will simply say "No, no, we aren't paying for all those bullets!" when some dudes show up with unopened bricks of .22LR from WalMart and demand $500 a piece for them.

Remember, this isn't the government and it isn't even a retail operation. They have no obligation to actually honor the offer they're making. They'll say NO (or run out of cash in a big hurry!) and then be angry and publicly indignant about the nasty, nasty people who messed up this great thing they were trying to do for their community.

But, hey, get there early if you want any of these morons' bucks! :)

They’d have to have some limit and restriction.
I’m betting that folks above are right, these folks have no clue and are going to learn fast.

Id have no problem loading a couple thousand rounds for this. If they were a little closer I’d go just to see if they’d pay me.

I’m thinking all the crap steel cases I was going to recycle and some cheap bullets!

To answer your question, I live in the area and this is the first I have seen or heard of it.

I might go and see what they say/do. This is not in a good part of town though.....
Someone should go . I'm thinking they are only buy one bullet form ever person. That's the only way they can do it. Unless Michael Bloomberg is behind this. Na millionaires don't spend their own money on their cause.

Looking at my calendar, I will be busy that day, but I will see if I can talk a friend or two into going with a pile of different ammo (just in case they only take certain kinds or whatever).

This is the weekend of the Knob Creek machine gun shoot too..... lots of people in town with lots of ammo....

I asked specifically about a limit. We'll see if they respond. I probably won't be able to go anyway, I'm 3.5 hrs away... But maybe I can get some info for ya'll!

If you emailed them asking them about a limit, that would tip their hand before the event even started that people might be trying to bring extra ammo. It has nothing to do with competition. I have gobs of loaded ammo and if they are dumb enough, an exceedingly large supply of just bullets.
