I still have a bit over 300 rounds of M2 ball KA-73 that is corrosive primed I used to fire in my 1903A3, but I sold the rifle.
I guess I could have a range day with the Garands but cleaning can be tedious.
$300 will buy me lots of fun at the range with other tools.

I was about to load up the truck.

But figured that the line will be very long and they would run out of money before they got to me.

[QUOTE=" Generally, it's not really the churches putting up the money, they're just the conduit to convince people to come in. It's some deep pocketed individual or organization providing the cash. And Bloomberg does put his own money where his mouth is, I'll give him that.[/QUOTE]

If I had to guess, I'd agree this was set up by some well-meaning but misinformed group bent on public safety. Bloomberg didn't become a
multi-millionaire by paying a dollar for six cent bullets.

That is too bad. If you good folks could bankrupt that place many minds could be spared from brainwashing. I do applaud your good will.

Interesting tidbits about Pastor Romero from a church web site, apparently where he used to work, sinc enot on the current staff list.
    http://www.worldprayercenter.org/staff/ray-romero
What is one of your favorite quotes?
“Don’t die for your country, make your enemy die for his.” –General Patton.
What is the hardest thing you have ever accomplished?
    Graduating from drill Sergeant school.

Significantly, I see nothing about the 10/14 buyback anywhere on that site.

    But, Church announcement:

These inner-city "gun buyback" programs are not directed at the kind of people who populate this board ("gun people"). They're not even directed at the inner-city thugs who use their guns to inflict mayhem on a daily basis. No, they're directed at grannies and children who might find a junk gun or a few rounds of ammunition in a drawer and don't know what to do with them. These programs are feel-good gestures with no practical effect, except perhaps to prevent some accidents. I find it difficult to get upset about them.

"...Do they really mean bullets?..." Doesn't matter. They don't know the difference between a bullet and their elbow.
A case of 5,000 .22 LR runs $204 at Ammo King in Oklahoma. $199.99 at Outdoor Limited in NC. There's money to be made from stupid people.

If the promised event ever happens, I will be surprised. Did anyone ever call the pastor and confirm this future riot? DANOOBIE, I'm with you. This may be a prank by the ammo store across the street from the church! :)
Somebody call the TV news and warn them of the mess that is going to happen.
I gotta' give credit to whomever came up with this scam! Very cool!

Until I read about the $30 limit, I was busy calculating how much .22 I have and how long it would take me to drive there. Did anyone happen to go &/or get video?

I was unable to find anyone willing to risk it over $30. It's really not in a great part of town.

All the folks thinking they'd accept bullets instead of loaded rounds are not likely to be satisfied, but if the church was foolish enough to do this... I'd haul one of the two five gallon buckets of scavenged brass down there.

If I had been nearby I would have traded 30 , 22LR for $30. A lot of talk here but not much action in THR.:(

For a dollar per bullet I'd sell most of what I have, use half the money to more than double my original supply and keep the profit.

I hope your right. It'd be very sad if they bought the bullets with donation money.
