I want to buy a quantity of motor mica and can't seem to find anything but fiddling little packages of it. Anybody know where I can buy it in pound or 5-pound quantities?

Call Larry Potterfield (midwayusa) and tell him who you are and what you want if for, and he'll probably give you his vender info.

I've used it on my cast bullets. I've still got 99% of the container I bought 12 or so years ago as I found that impeded the accuracy of my cast SWC and WC's that I use in PPC shooting.

I just learned to tolerate some "sticky" bullets. If I need "no stick", I just lightly tumble the loaded rounds in my vibratory tumbler for 20-30min to remove the lube.

8 oz jar is the largest I've ever seen (sold at Ballistic Products).

Midway used to sell it, I bought a quart bottle of it a few years ago. They listed it as powdered mica.

I don't think it would be enough for a long term supply when I'm running 20,000 bullets a day on the Camdex, Jim :)

I'd suggest you contact Midway direct direct as you're both in the same state, they might make you a bulk deal, wouldn't see why not. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. The absolute worse is they could say no.

I googled "bulk powdered mica" and was rewarded with too many hits to pass along. Many appear to offer multiple varieties, grades, and grinds.

Got both of them. Thanks, guys! 10 lbs. should last a while.

I appreciate all the help on this.

I was looking at some other items in the Grainger catalog a while ago and remember seeing it in there in larger quantities. This may be what you were looking to find for a steady supply.
