I noticed the transfer bar on my Ruger SP101 moved back towards the hammer when I was practicing single action trigger control under dry fire. The transfer bars on my GP100 and Redhawk are firmly seated. Is a little (maybe 1/16th to 1/8th of an inch) jiggle within spec for a transfer bar?

Just looked at my Rugers, a 3 inch 101, 4 inch 101 and a SRH 44.
No play in the 3 inch 101 transfer bar, quite a bit in the 4 inch 101 and a little in the SRH.
The SRH has wolf springs although I don't think that matters.
They all work so I'm not too concerned

It has to have some degree of play, it's not a hand-fitted part, if it fires don't worry about it.

My SP101 has always had a bit of play in the transfer bar. In fact it rattles if I shake the gun vigorously. Annoying, but not a problem. And why would I be shaking it anyway?

I think you have nothing to worry about.

I guess unless I take up hula dancing when I carry my SP101, the transfer bar rattling a bit shouldn't be something I need to worry about.
