Sparky and dirty Tomcat

I bought a .32 cal Beretta Tomcat a few weeks ago and like it a lot so far. It has functioned flawlessly through the first couple of boxes of ammo. I've noticed when shooting at dusk or even in a not very bright indoor range that the barrel flash is very different from my Kel-Tec P-ll and ported SA XD9. I see mostly flame from both 9mm guns but from the Tomcat I see mostly bright sparks and lots of them, actually noticable even in broad daylight.

The other thing is that after just a few shots the barrel is really dirty compared to the other pistols and a lot harder to get clean. All I've used so far is UMC FMJ ammo and the ammo is what first comes to mind here but I've used UMC in the other pistols from time to time and never noticed any of this. Obviously I need to try some other ammo but I wonder if anyone here knows something about this that I don't. I know it's a very short barrel but not really that much shorter than the Kel-Tec P-11. Could it be something about it being a blowback operated action? The barrel looks ok once cleaned so I don't think it's (heaven forbid) the barrel being shredded but that did occur to me. The only other thing I can think of is that they use different powder or primers in .32 cal ammo. Any Ideas?
 
As a general rule, blowback operated guns tend to get dirty faster than non-blowback guns. I think the reasons are obvious, the action opens sooner and gives burned and unburned powder more of a chance to blowback into the action.
 
Hi Flyer...Yeah I've posted on KTOG a few times since I bought the P-ll. I knew the blowback design would dirty up the breech and breechface more quickly because I've had a Buchmark 22 for years but the amount of yuck inside the barrel and the sparklers is a surprise. Live and learn huh?
 
I love my Tomcat Inox.
Some do not like them and have trouble.
Some love them
So far mine has veen flawless
The only problem and why I still call it flawless is it sometimes flips the last round out of the magazine.
THe only way to know this is to count rounds because it never misses a beat
